Android Barcode Scanning

We are excited to announce we have expanded our barcode scanner hardware compatibility offering. In addition to Windows CE support, the integrated barcode scanning solution now supports the Android mobile operating system. As a result, the barcode scanning solution can be used on:

• Android-based mobile scanners
• Android phones

If you want to leverage the barcode scanning on your Android phone, the Android app can be installed from the Google Play store.

For warehouse or industrial applications, we recommend leveraging Android barcode scanners. Please note the barcode scanning application is hardware agnostic. We do not require you to use any specific make, model, or brand, nor do you have to purchase your hardware from our preferred vendors.

The only major requirement is the scanner needs to have an operating system Android KitKat 4.4 or greater. Google released KitKat in 2013 so any relatively newer Android scanner or phone should be compatible with barcode scanning solution.

Please note the mobile barcoding solution is only supported on GOLD level plans and above.
